Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Diesel Injection Pump Locking Pin:3359
- Counterhold - Vibration Damper:T10051
- Counterhold - Kit - Multiple Use:T10172 with Camshaft Lock:T10172/11
- Wrench - Tensioning Roller:T10264
- Chain Tensioner Locking Tool:T10265
- Locking Pin:T10492
- Crankshaft Lock:T10490
Removing
-- Remove the upper toothed belt guard. Refer to TOOTHED BELT GUARD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the vibration damper. Refer to VIBRATION DAMPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Risk of destroying by the toothed belt skipping.
- Only turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.
-- Turn the crankshaft at the toothed belt sprocket bolt until the camshaft toothed belt sprocket is at "TDC".
-- Secure the camshaft hub with the :3359 by inserting the pin into the fork on the drive plate -2- and into the hole behind it -1- in the cylinder head.
-- Loosen the bolt -1- in the camshaft sprocket a half a turn, but do not remove.
-- Secure the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket with the :T10490 .
- The pins on the :T10490 must engage in the threaded holes on the toothed belt sprocket.
- The pin on the Crankshaft Lock :T10490 must engage in the hole on the sealing flange.
-- Loosen the bolt -arrow- for the camshaft toothed belt sprocket.
-- To do so, use the :T10172A with the :T10172/11 .
-- Secure the hub on the high pressure pump with the :T10492 .
-- To do so, place the locking pin in the hub fork -2- and the rear hole -1- in the sub-assembly bracket.
-- Loosen the nut -arrow- for the high pressure pump toothed belt sprocket approximately 90°.
-- Use the :T10051 to do so.
-- Loosen the nut -1- for the tensioning roller.
-- Turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley counter-clockwise using the :T10264 in direction of -arrow- until the tensioning roller can be locked with the :T10265 .
-- Turn the tensioning roller eccentric pulley with the :T10264 clockwise in direction of -arrow- until it stops.
-- Tighten the nut -1- by hand.
-- Remove the toothed belt from the camshaft toothed belt sprocket.
Installing (Adjusting Valve Timing). Refer to TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
