Overview - Oil Pan/Oil Pump, Vehicles With One-Piece Oil Pan: Notes

NOTE:

If large quantities of metal shavings or abraded material are detected during an engine repair, it may mean the crankshaft or connecting rod bearings are damaged. To prevent further damage, the following steps must be carried out after the repair. Oil channels must be cleaned carefully; replace oil spray jets, engine oil cooler and oil filter.

Oil spray jet and pressure relief valve. Refer to OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP, VEHICLES WITH ONE-PIECE OIL PAN .

Bolt
- 8 Nm
- Always replace after removing.
- Self-locking
Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Always replace after removing.
Oil Drain Plug
- 30 Nm
Seal
- Always replace after removing.
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Oil Pan - Tightening Specifications and Sequence .
Oil Pan
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
O-ring
- Always replace after removing.
Bolt
Pay attention to the different threaded connections:
- Bolt with TORX^® - internal drive: 12 Nm + 180°
- Bolt with hex fitting-external drive: 10 Nm + 180°
- Always replace after removing.
Oil Pump
- With vacuum pump
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Alignment Sleeve
Toothed Belt
CAUTION:
Do not kink, turn or damage the toothed belt with sharp edges!
- Removing:
  - Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
  - Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BELT PULLEY SIDE
Seal
- Always replace after removing.
Alignment Sleeve
Cylinder Block

- Always replace after removing.
Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Oil Pressure Regulation Valve -N428-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
