Driveshaft Flange Seal On Rear Final Drive, Replacing: Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

-- Support the front section of the exhaust system using the :VAS6931 .

-- Separate the exhaust system at the clamping sleeve -arrows- and remove the rear section of the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS [For engine(s) CRUA] or EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS [For engine(s) CNSB, CNSA, CXBB, CXBA, CXCB, CXCA] .

NOTE:

Do not bend the exhaust system decoupling element more than 10° or it could be damaged.

-- Remove the pendulum support bolts -1 and 2-.

-- Press the >>engine and transmission<< forward slightly and secure it with a suitable piece of wood -A-.

-- Remove the center tunnel heat shield under the intermediate bearing. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Remove the rear driveshaft from the final drive -arrows-.

-- Counterhold using :T10172A when loosening and tightening the bolts.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the intermediate bearing.

-- Remove the driveshaft from the final drive and lay it on the tunnel brace; place a cloth on the tunnel brace to protect the shaft.

-- When removing and installing the driveshaft, always be careful not to damage the bushing -arrow-.

-- Secure the intermediate bearing to the body with two bolts to avoid placing a load on the front flexible disc unnecessarily.

-- Tie the vehicle to the hoist with :T10038 .

WARNING:

If the vehicle is not secured, there is the risk that it could slip from the hoist.

-- Remove the flange/driveshaft hex nut.

A -M10 x 25 Bolts

B -M8 x 15 Bolt (installed in the :3415 from the rear)

-- Remove the driveshaft flange. If its difficult to move use the : VAS251201 (Kukko 12-1).
