Left Seal, Replacing: Removing

The transmission is installed.

-- Lift the vehicle, all four mounts from lifting platform at the same height.

-- Move the selector lever to >>P<<.

NOTE:

Do not lower the vehicle onto the floor after loosening central screw.

-- Press the brake and remove the bolt for the left drive axle -arrow- (second technician).

-- Remove the left front wheel.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the lower section of the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove the left drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .

-- Remove the left transmission flange shaft using the :T10107A .

The bolt has a 6 mm inner hex socket The bolt can also be removed and installed using the :VAG1669 .

-- To remove and install the flange shaft, install two bolts into the flange and counterhold it using a pry bar.

-- Remove the flange shaft.

-- Place the :SMN372500 or Drip Tray under the transmission.

-- Remove seal with :VW771 and :VW771/37 .
