Gear Oil, Filling

-- Install the :VAS6291/2 -A- until stop.

-- Lock the elbow -B- with the adapter -A-.

-- Fill with gear oil.

NOTE:

When bevel box is filled correctly, oil escapes at adapter -A-.

If the oil still does not leak out, repeat the filling procedure.

-- After filling correctly, remove the :VAS6291/2 .

-- Install the >>old<< oil filler plug and lightly tighten it.

-- Start the engine, engage a gear and let the transmission turn for approximately two minutes.

-- Switch off the engine and remove the oil filler hole plug.

-- Check the oil level and fill again with oil up to the lower edge of the filler hole.

-- Insert the new oil filler plug and tighten -item 9- OVERVIEW - BEVEL BOX COMPONENTS List Item:Fill and Check Plug.

If oil comes in contact with bevel box, remove the bevel box carefully.

-- Install the heat shield above the right drive axle arrows, if equipped. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
