Flange Shaft Seals: Installing

-- Lightly lubricate the outer diameter of the new seal and install it until seated using the Seal Installer - Flange ShaftT10049. Be careful not to tilt it.

-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lips half way with sealing grease for sealG 052 128 A1.

Lock Ring (Circlip) Replacing

-- Clamp the flange shaft in a vise with jaw protectors.

-- Use the new lock ring -A- to press the previous lock ring out of the flange shaft groove.

-- Install the flange shaft using a plastic hammer and a drift.

Left Seal

-- Install the drive axle. Refer to Removal And Installation .

Right Seal

-- Install the rear final drive. Refer to one of the following:

Passat, refer to .

CC, refer to .

Tiguan, refer to REAR FINAL DRIVE .
