Overview - Charge Air System: Notes

NOTE:

Before checking or repairing, check if all air duct pipes and hoses as well as vacuum lines are connected properly and are not leaking.

Seal
- Replace after removing.
- When installing, coat the seal with clean engine oil
Connection

Air Duct Pipe
- Removing and installing. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Charge Air Pressure Sensor -GX26-
- Consists of
  Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31-
  
  Intake Air Temperature Sensor -G42-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Charge Air Pressure Sensor -GX26-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Not available separately.
- Replace the Charge Air Pressure Sensor -GX26- when damaged
Seal
- Replace after removing.
- When installing, coat the seal with clean engine oil
Bolt
- 7 Nm
- Position the bolt by hand and tighten it until it finds the old threads. Then tighten the bolt to the tightening specification

Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-
- Consists of
  Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-
  
  EPC Throttle Drive -G186-
  
  EPC Throttle Drive Angle Sensor 1 -G187-

- Removing and installing. Refer to Throttle Valve Control Module -GX3-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Replace after removing.
Intake Manifold
Removing and installing. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Replace after removing.
Sealing Lip
- Replace after removing.
- When installing, coat the seal with clean engine oil
Coolant Hose

Charge Air Cooler
- Removing and installing. Refer to CHARGE AIR COOLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Fill with coolant after replacing. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING - Filling .
Bolt
- 15 Nm
- Position the bolt by hand and tighten it until it finds the old threads. Then tighten the bolt to the tightening specification

Seal

Intake Manifold Sensor -GX9-
- Consists of
  Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 -G299-
  
  Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor -G71-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Intake Manifold Sensor -GX9-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Replace after removing.
- Quantity: 4

NOTE:

The hose connections as well as air duct pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure all hose connections with standard production hose clamps.

In order to be able to securely mount the air guide hoses on their connectors, the bolts on the used clamps must be sprayed with a rust remover before installing.
