Individual Components of Disassembled Dual Clutch

CAUTION:

This illustration is only an overview of the components. The dual clutch must not be disassembled at this time since all clutch plates were installed balanced to each other.
If the drive plate is loosened, the clutch discs in the dual clutch can slip out of place and the dual clutch may not be properly set then during installation.

DSG^® Clutch/Clutch Housing
- Outer clutch plate carrier
Seal
- Quantity: 4
Inner Clutch Plate Carrier
- Do not remove
  CAUTION:
  Do not lift or remove the inner clutch plate carrier under any circumstances. The clutch plates could rotate themselves.
Outer Clutch Plate
- Quantity: 4
Inner Clutch Plate
- Quantity: 4
Thrust Washer
Circlip
- If the circlip was removed in order to reinsert the plates, it should be replaced with a new ring of the same thickness.
Circlip
- After installing a new dual clutch, redetermine the thickness. Refer to Identifying the Circlip for the Dual Clutch .
Drive Plate
Circlip
- Replace after removing
- Do not install any wavy circlips
