Clutch End Cover, Removing And Installing: Installing
Always replace the clutch end cover and the circlip. Never use a hammer to install a new clutch end cover and never lubricate the center seal or touch it. Leaks will develop.
Note the following before installing the clutch end cover:
The new clutch end cover must be free of oil near the center seal and it must be dry.
-- If necessary, clean the sealing surface on the drive plate -arrow- thoroughly.
There must not be any stickers on the inside of the clutch end cover.
-- If there is, carefully remove the sticker.
Only coat outer edge of seal with oil.
-- Remove the clutch end cover from the replacement parts package. Only take a hold of the clutch end cover at the outer edge.
-- Clean the end of transmission shaft.
Clutch End Cover Without Bushing:
-- Place the :T10302 on a level surface.
Clean the assembly sleeve before use and do not use scratched assembly sleeves.
-- To pre-form the inner seal on the new clutch end cover, guide the clutch end cover with the outer side facing downward evenly and horizontally over the :T10302 .
-- Remove the :T10302 upward out of the clutch end cover.
-- Place the :T10302 on the end of the dual clutch shaft.
Risk of damaging the clutch end cover.
- Do not drive on the clutch end cover with a hammer.
-- Guide the clutch end cover with the outer side facing upward horizontally over the :T10302 and press it evenly into its seat.
-- If required, carefully pry the clutch end cover into its seat with a screwdriver -arrow- as illustrated until it is possible to install the circlip.
-- Install the clutch end cover circlip into the transmission housing by counter-holding the circlip on the opposite side so it remains in its groove.
-- Using a screwdriver, check to make sure the circlip is completely engaged.
-- Remove the :T10302 .
Clutch End Cover With Bushing (Assembly Aid):
-- Insert the clutch end cover with the bushing.
Risk of damaging the clutch end cover.
- Do not drive on the clutch end cover with a hammer.
-- Push the clutch end cover evenly into its seat.
-- If required, carefully pry the clutch end cover into its seat with a screwdriver -arrow- as illustrated until it is possible to install the circlip.
-- Install the clutch end cover circlip into the transmission housing by counter-holding the circlip on the opposite side so it remains in its groove.
-- Using a screwdriver, check to make sure the circlip is completely engaged.
-- Remove the bushing (assembly aid).
Continuation For Both Clutch End Covers:
-- Install the transmission. Refer to TRANSMISSION, INSTALLING, 2.0L - 155 KW - GASOLINE ENGINE .
-- Fill the transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING .
-- Perform the basic setting using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in Guided Functions .
