Clutch Mechanism, Bleeding
Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit :VAS5234 or
- Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit :VAG1869
It is not necessary to pre-fill the system.
Brake fluid: Allocation refer to the parts information.
-- Remove the air filter housing if the bleed valve -arrow- is not accessible. Refer to AIR FILTER (CNLA, CRJA) , AIR FILTER (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) , AIR FILTER (CBPA, CKJA) and AIR FILTER (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) .
-- Connect the Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit :VAS5234 or :VAG1869 .
If necessary use the Bleeder Hose (670 mm) : VAG1238/B3 .
-- Connect the bleed hose to the brake bleeder unit collector bottle.
-- Attach the bleed hose to the bleed valve -arrow-.
-- Apply 2 bar (29 psi) pressure to the system.
-- Open the bleed valve.
-- Let approximately 100 cm3 of brake fluid flow out.
-- Close the bleed valve.
-- Operate the pedal rapidly from stop to stop, 10 to 15 times.
-- Open the bleed valve again.
-- Let another 50 cm3 of brake fluid flow out.
-- Close the bleed valve.
-- Press the clutch pedal a few times after bleeding the system.
-- Install the complete air filter housing if it was removed earlier. Refer to AIR FILTER (CNLA, CRJA) , AIR FILTER (CZCA, CZDA, CZTA) , AIR FILTER (CBPA, CKJA) and AIR FILTER (CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA) .
