WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Observe the following when working on the SCR system:
WARNING:
The reducing agent can cause skin irritation:
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes! Wear gloves!
- If the reducing agent contacts the skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water.
- If the reducing agent gets in the eye (s), flush the eye (s) for several minutes with water.
- Never inhale or swallow the reducing agent!
- If any reducing agent is swallowed, rinse out mouth, drink plenty of water and contact a doctor immediately.
- Make sure the reducing agent does not contact any clothing or the vehicle body.
- If this occurs, wash immediately with clean water and then dry with a lint-free cotton cloth.
- If the reducing agent has already crystallized, use warm water and a sponge.
- Reducing agent that is not removed will crystallize and can damage the affected surface after a period of time.
Danger Due To Reducing Agent Leaking Out:
- To prevent large amounts of reducing agent from leaking out when opening the metering line, wait for the automatic reducing agent recirculation process to complete. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON SCR SYSTEM - Reducing Agent, Automatic Recirculation .
