Overview - Cylinder Block, Transmission Side

- Flywheel
- Removing and installing. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Only possible to install in one position (bores are offset)
- Alignment Sleeve
- Transmission Side Sealing Flange
- Replace only as a complete unit.
- With seal
- Removing and installing. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
- Do not oil or grease the sealing lip of seal
- Wipe off any oil on the crankshaft bearing pin with a clean cloth before installing.
- Guide sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft pin.
- Cylinder Block
- Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 1.
- Intermediate Plate
- The illustration does not show the version in the vehicle.
- Must rest on alignment sleeves
- Be careful not to damage or bend when installing
- Engaged at sealing flange. Refer to 8
- Alignment Sleeve
- Bolt
- 60 Nm +90°
- Replace after removing
- For the dual-mass flywheel
-- Tighten the bolts in the shown sequence -1 to 6- in steps:

| 1. | -1 through 6- | Install all the way in by hand. |
| 2. | -1 through 6- | 9 Nm |
NOTE:
Only six bolts are installed, two bolt openings remain open.
-- Engage the intermediate plate at the sealing flange and push it onto the alignment sleeves -arrows-.
