Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Unclip and remove the cover -1- upward from the retainers -arrows-.

-- Disconnect the connector for the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10- -1-.

-- Unclip the wire from both brackets -arrows-.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL .

-- Remove the right drive axle heat shield.

-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 2 Before Catalytic Converter -GX11- and Oxygen Sensor 1 after Catalytic Converter -GX7-. Refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the front tunnel brace -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- on the camshaft housing.

NOTE:

Do not loosen the bolts on the turbocharger.

The coolant lines are not removed from the turbocharger.

-- Remove the bolts or nut -arrows-.

-- Guide out and remove the heat shield -1-.

-- At the same time lift the coolant line slightly.

-- Open the screw-type clamp -2- and position on the catalytic converter entrance funnel.

-- Remove the nuts -1 and 4-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the bracket -1-.

-- Remove the connector from the bracket and free up the wire to the heated oxygen sensor.

-- Loosen the clamping sleeve -arrow- and push it toward the rear.

-- Remove the catalytic converter with the front exhaust pipe to the rear.
