Overview - Oil Pan/Oil Pump: Notes

NOTE:

If Large Quantities Of Metal Shavings Or Abraded Material Are Detected During An Engine Repair, It May Mean The Crankshaft Or Connecting Rod Bearings Are Damaged. To Prevent Damage, Perform The Following Steps After Completing The Repair: Carefully Clean The Oil Channels And Replace The Oil Spray Jets, The Oil Cooler And The Oil Filter.

Oil spray jet and pressure relief valve. Refer to OIL SPRAY JETS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Nut
- 9 Nm
Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-
- Removing and installing. Refer to Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Seal
- Replace after removing.
Oil Drain Plug
- 30 Nm
- Replaced at the first oil change
- With a permanent seal on a new vehicle
- The oil drain plug installed at the first oil change with a separate seal is reused.
Seal
- Replace after removing.
- For the oil drain plug installed at the first oil change
Oil Pan Lower Section
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 5 Nm +90°
- Replace after removing.
Alignment Sleeve
- Quantity: 2
Cover
- For the oil pump drive chain sprocket
Drive Chain
- For the oil pump
- Before removing, mark the running direction with paint
Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Figure.
- Replace after removing.
Oil Pan Upper Section
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Oil Baffle
Chain Sprocket
- For oil pump drive
Alignment Pin
Oil Filter
- 20 Nm
- See note under OVERVIEW. Refer to OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP .
- Coat the seal with clean engine oil before installing.
- Removing and installing.
- If the threaded connections for the oil filter are loosened in the oil pan. Refer to Retainer Threaded Connection For Oil Filter .
Seal
- With oil strainer
Oil Pump
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 10 Nm
O-Ring
- Replace after removing.
Oil Intake Pipe
- Clean the screen if there are debris
Bolt
- Tightening sequence. Refer to Figure.
- Replace after removing.
