Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Transmission Side: Procedure

-- Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the intermediate plate -1- from the alignment sleeves -A arrows-.

-- Guide the intermediate plate -1- upward.

-- While doing so remove the intermediate plate -1- retaining tab -arrow B- from the opening behind the sealing flange.

-- Position the crankshaft at "TDC". Refer to VALVE TIMING, CHECKING .

-- Remove the oil pan lower section. Refer to OIL PAN LOWER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the Engine Speed Sensor -G28-. Refer to Engine Speed Sensor -G28-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the sealing flange -1-.

-- To press out, install three M6 x 35 bolts -arrows- in the sealing flange -1-.

-- The sealing flange -1- is pressed from the crankshaft -3- together with the sensor wheel -2-.

-- Tighten the bolts alternating a maximum 1 /2 turn each in the sealing flange.

-- Remove the sealing flange -1- together with the sensor wheel -2-.
