Coolant Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the resonator for the intake air scoop. Refer to INTAKE AIR SCOOP RESONATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the air duct pipe. Refer to AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Push the release button and remove the hose -1- from the EVAP canister.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the crankcase ventilation hose.

-- Seal all opening of the charge air and intake system with plugs from the :VAS6122  .

-- Replace the bolts -arrows-.

-- Always clean the threads on the turbocharger.

-- Free up the wiring harness -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3- and remove the toothed belt guard -2- for the coolant pump toothed belt.

-- Free up the wiring harness -1- and coolant hose -2-.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove all coolant hoses from the coolant pump.

-- Loosen and remove the bolts in the following sequence: -5 to 1-.

-- Remove the coolant pump with the toothed belt.

-- Remove the coolant thermostat housing if the coolant pump is being replaced. Refer to COOLANT THERMOSTAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
