Balance Shaft Timing Chain: Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to BALANCE SHAFT TIMING CHAIN OVERVIEW .

-- Rotate the intermediate shaft sprocket/balance shaft to the mark -arrow-.

NOTE:

The painted links on the timing chain must be positioned on the marks on the chain sprockets.

Due to the ratio, the marks align only after every 7th turn.

-- Install the timing chain; the painted links on the timing chain must be positioned on the marks on the chain sprockets.

-- Install the timing chain tensioning rail and tighten the guide pins -2-.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the guide pins -4-.

-- Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the guide pins -3-.

-- Install the timing chain tensioner -1- using locking fluid.

-- Check this adjustment one more time.

-- Check the marks on the intermediate shaft sprocket/balance shaft -arrow-.

NOTE:

The mark on the intermediate shaft sprocket/balance shaft is shown with the chain removed.

Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
