Front Seat Belts From My 2012: Removing
Observe safety precautions for belt tensioners. Refer to SEAT BELT TENSIONERS SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A6, 09M] Removal and Installation
-- Remove the upper B-pillar trim from the mounts. Refer to B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM, LOOSENING FROM MOUNTS AND SECURING .
-- Remove the B-pillar lower trim. Refer to LOWER B-PILLAR TRIM
-- Remove the 2 screws -1- (20 Nm).
-- Loosen the belt anchor -2- from the sill panel.
-- Thread the belt anchor -1- through the B-pillar trim -2-.
-- Remove the two bolts -1- (4.5 Nm) and remove the belt guide -2-.
When installing, make sure the belt guide is correctly installed.
-- Remove the bolt -1- (40 Nm) and remove the belt relay -2- from belt height adjuster.
-- Remove the bolt -1- (40 Nm) and the automatic belt retractors -2- from the B-pillar.
Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore, the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before disconnecting the ignition wire and ground wire. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.
-- Disconnect wiring harness from belt inertia reels.
