Front Passenger Seat Occupant Sensor G128: Removing
If Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor -G128- is replaced, also the upholstery, front seat cushion must always be replaced!
-- Mount the Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136 on the engine and Transmission Holder VAS 6095.
-- Remove the front seat. Refer to FRONT SEAT
-- Attach the seat to the Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136.
-- Remove the front seat belt latch. Refer to FRONT SEAT BELT LATCHES
-- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL SIDE TRIM
-- Remove the drawer mount, if equipped. Refer to DRAWER MOUNT
Passenger Seat Without Height Adjustment
-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTING WHEEL
-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM, PASSENGER SEAT WITHOUT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Passenger Seat With Pass-Through
-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM, PASSENGER SEAT WITH PASS-THROUGH
-- Remove the bracket, trim, door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM BRACKET, PASSENGER SEAT WITH PASS-THROUGH
Front Seats With Manual Height Adjustment
-- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTING WHEEL
-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM, FRONT SEATS WITH MANUAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
-- Remove the bracket, trim, door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM BRACKET, FRONT SEATS WITH MANUAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Power Driver Seat
-- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM, POWER DRIVER SEAT
-- Remove the bracket, trim, door sill side. Refer to DOOR SILL SIDE TRIM BRACKET, POWER DRIVER SEAT
-- Disconnect the two harness connectors for the backrest drives underneath the seat frame. Remove the harness connectors from the seat frame.
All Seats
-- Cut the mesh hose cable tie and pull the harness connector belt lock through it.
On vehicles with a luggage pass-through, it is sufficient to fold the backrest forward, it does not have to be removed.
-- Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST
-- Remove cover and cushion from front seat backrests. Refer to FRONT SEAT PAN COVERS AND UPHOLSTERY
The front passenger seat occupant sensor -G128- -1- is secured with seat cushion padding. It is not possible to remove and install separately, sensor must be replaced with upholstery.
