Ribbed Belt, Removing And Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Locking Pin T10060A
Removing
-- Remove the noise insulation, refer to NOISE INSULATION AND FOAM PIECES, FENDER AND FENDER END PLATE .
Risk of destroying due to reversed running direction on a used ribbed belt.
- If the ribbed belt is going to be installed again, mark the running direction with chalk or a marker.
-- Move the tensioner in direction of -arrow- to release the tension on the ribbed belt.
-- Secure the tensioner with Locking Pin T10060A.
-- Remove the ribbed belt.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Make sure all assemblies (generator, Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor and power steering pump) are installed securely before installing the ribbed belt.
Make sure the running direction of the ribbed belt is correct and that the belt is routed correctly over the belt pulley.
Route the ribbed belt last over the generator on vehicles without an A/C system.
Route the ribbed belt last over the A/C compressor on vehicles without an A/C system.
After the work is completed:
-- Start the engine and check the belt running.
