Fuel Tank Assembly Overview

NOTE:
Hose connections are secured with either spring-type or clamp-type clips.
Always replace clamp-type clips with spring-type clips.
Pliers for spring clamps VAS 5024A or hose clamp pliers V.A.G 1921 are recommended for installing spring clamps.

- Ensure seated tightly
- 10 Nm
- Wiring router
- Fuel Tank
- Removing and installing FUEL TANK .
- 25 Nm
- Replace
- Lock washer
- Securing strap
- Note installation position
- Heat shield
- For fuel tank
- Seal
- Replace
- To install, lubricate with fuel
- Fuel delivery unit
- With fuel level sensor -G-
- Note installation position in fuel tank Fig 2
- Removing and installing FUEL DELIVERY UNIT .
- Check fuel pump FUEL PUMP, CHECKING .
- Fuel level sensor -G-, removing and installing FUEL LEVEL SENSOR .
- Clean strainer if contaminated
- Locking ring, 110 Nm
- Use wrench T10202 to remove and install
- Supply line
- To fuel filter, see "Supply line" in item: 1.
- Clipped in at fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly
- Black
- To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
- Return line
- From fuel cooler
- Blue or with blue marking
- Clipped in at fuel tank
- Ensure seated tightly
- To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
- Tank flap unit
- Removing and installing Removal and Installation
Tab -2- on fuel delivery unit must lie between tabs -1- and -3-.
NOTE:
-Arrow- points in direction of travel.
Fuel delivery unit can only be installed in this position.
