Transmission Fluid Cooler

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Removing

-- Move the selector lever into the "P" position.

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Place a lint free cloth onto the transmission fluid cooler and transmission to absorb any leaking coolant.

-- Clamp off the coolant hoses using the hose clamps up to 25 mm dia.3094 and remove the hoses from the cooler.

-- Remove the bolts -A- and the transmission fluid cooler -B-.

CAUTION:

Coolant must not drip into the transmission!

Installing

-- Replace the transmission fluid cooler O-rings -C-.

-- Install the transmission fluid cooler -B-, while doing this, pay attention to the O-rings -C-.

-- Tighten the new bolts -A- to 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

-- Install the coolant hoses to the transmission fluid cooler and remove the hose clamps up to 25 mm dia.3094.

-- Install the battery tray and the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Check the coolant level and fill if necessary.

-- After repairing, check the transmission fluid level and add, if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND ADDING .

CAUTION:

Do not start the engine during coolant level testing if the transmission fluid has not been filled yet.
