Oil Supply Line To Turbocharger

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Socket T40055
Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) V.A.G 1331

Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .

-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Remove the intake tube between the mass airflow sensor -G70- and intake duct. Loosen the hose clamps using hose clip pliers VAS 6362.

-- Remove the intake scoop.

-- Remove the warm air collector plate.

-- Remove the connecting pipe between the exhaust manifold and intake manifold.

-- Remove the charge air pipe.

-- Remove the clamp -arrow- on the back of the cylinder head.

-- Loosen the union nuts on the oil filter bracket and turbocharger with socket T40055.

-- Remove the oil supply line clamp bolt -arrow- at the side of the cylinder head.

-- Remove the oil supply line.

Installing

-- Check the oil supply line to make sure it is not clogged.

-- Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.

The additional numbered steps must be followed to ensure the oil supply line is installed correctly

-- Set the union nuts of the oil supply line onto the connections.

-- Tighten the union nut on the oil filter bracket by hand.

-- Tighten the union nut on the turbocharger by hand.

-- First, tighten the union nut on the oil filter bracket and then the one on the turbocharger using socket T40055.

Tightening specification, see -item 6- in the OIL FILTER BRACKET AND OIL COOLER OVERVIEW .

-- Position the clamps and tighten the bolt or nut:

Tightening specification: 10 Nm.

The rest of the installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

CAUTION:

Make sure the connecting pipe coupling element does not bend or stretch. Cracks could develop.

NOTE:

Replace the connecting pipe between the exhaust manifold and intake manifold after removing.

-- Install the connecting pipe between the exhaust manifold and intake manifold.

-- Install the warm air collector plate.

-- Install the intake scoop.

-- Install the charge air tube.

-- Install the intake tube between the MAF sensor and intake duct. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING OVERVIEW .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER .
