Coolant Pump

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Refractometer T10007
• Drip Tray for VAS 6100 VAS 6208
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) V.A.G 1331
• Hose Clip Pliers VAS 6362

Removing 

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the toothed belt. Refer to TOOTHED BELT .

-- Remove the bolts -1- from the coolant pump -2- and carefully remove the coolant pump.

Installing 

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

• Always replace seals, sealing rings and O-rings.

-- Lubricate the new O-ring -3- with coolant.

-- Insert the coolant pump -2- in the cylinder block and tighten the bolts -1-.

• Tightening specification: 15 Nm.

-- Install and tension the toothed belt. Refer to TOOTHED BELT .

-- Fill with coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .
