Secondary air injection pump motor, checking

Requirements 

• Fuse for secondary air injection pump in battery main fuse holder must be OK.
• Secondary air injection pump vacuum lines not blocked or kinked

Work sequence 

• Remove engine cover.
• Remove pressure hose in secondary air injection pump motor.
• Activate secondary air injection pump relay via final control diagnosis. Refer to Adapting components and functions  , Adapting functions and components.

Secondary air injection pump motor must run at intervals and air must exit at outlet union.

If motor runs but no air is pumped out:

• Replace secondary air injection pump motor.

If secondary air injection pump motor does not run at intervals:

• Check activation of secondary air injection pump motor. Refer to Adapting components and functions  .
