Radiator And Cooling Fan Removing And Installing: Removing

• Drain coolant. See Draining .
• Disconnect connectors from thermal switch -1- and coolant fan -2-.

• Remove front bumper. See BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
• Bring lock carrier into service position: See LOCK CARRIER SERVICE POSITION
• Pull coolant hoses quick release couplings off radiator.
• Remove securing screws for headlight and disconnect connections. See HEADLIGHTS - GOLF or HEADLIGHTS - JETTA

Models with an air conditioning system 

• Observe additional information and removal work
• Remove the four bolts for the air conditioning system condenser.

• Remove bolt (arrow) on left of radiator for condenser bracket.

Continue for all models 

• Remove radiator securing bolts and take radiator with fan out downward.
