Left Flange Shaft And Seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

-- Remove the left wheel.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to Description and Operation .

-- Remove the lower part of the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Remove left drive axle. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Place a drip tray under the transmission.

-- Remove the bolt for the flange shaft, by installing two bolts into the flange and counter holding the flange shaft using a pry bar.

-- Remove the flange shaft and the pressure spring.

-- Remove flange shaft seal.

Installing

-- Install the seal until flush using thrust piece 3305.

-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lips half way with sealing grease for seal G 052 128 A1.

-- Install the flange shaft.

-- Install the flange shaft with a bolt and tighten it to specification, see item 12 in Figure.

-- Install the left drive axle. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the lower section of the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .

-- Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHECKING .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to Description and Operation .
