Oil Pump Assembly Overview

NOTE:

Note the following when installing the oil pump: First tighten all bolts by hand. Then tighten the oil pressure line -item 7- at the cylinder block and then at the oil pump -item 3-. Tighten the oil pump bolts -item 4- last.

  1. Spacer Washer
  2. Input Shaft
    • For the oil pump drive.
  3. Oil Pump Housing
  4. Bolt, 23 Nm
  5. Oil Pump Cover with Pressure Relief Valve
    • Opening pressure: 5.3 to 5.7 bar.
    • Clean the strainer if contaminated.
  6. Gears
    • Checking backlash, refer to Fig 2.
    • Checking axial play, refer to Fig 3.
  7. Oil Pressure Line
    • Apply sealant AMV 188 001 02 to the oil pump housing.
    • Install with new "micro-encapsulated" bolts.
  8. Bolt, 8 Nm
    • Always replace.
  9. Seal
    • Replace if damaged.
  10. Bolt, 8 Nm

Wear limit: 0.20 mm
