Fuel Level Sensor 2
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Wrench T10202
- Torque wrench (40-200 Nm) VAG 1332
Removing
- Fuel tank may be a maximum of 3/4 full.
Empty the fuel tank if necessary using the VAS 5190. Refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING .
Read the safety precautions before beginning work. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the rear seat bench. Refer to Removal and Installation .
-- Remove the left cover (when viewed from direction of vehicle travel) from the fuel level sensor 2.
-- Disconnect the electrical connector.
-- Remove the locking ring using the T10202.
-- Remove the fuel level sensor 2 up slightly and unclip the suction jet pump.
Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 float arm when removing.
Installing
Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 float arm when installing.
-- Install the fuel level sensor 2 in the fuel tank.
-- Connect the suction jet pump to the sensor inside of the fuel tank. The catches must engage.
-- Install a new, dry seal into the fuel tank opening and only lubricate the inner side with fuel.
-- Note the fuel level sensor 2 installed position. Refer to Figure.
-- Check the seal for correct positioning.
-- Tighten locking ring with the T10202. Tightening specification: 110 Nm.
-- Connect the electrical connector.
-- Install the cover.
-- Install the rear seat bench. Refer to Removal and Installation .
