Secure The Gear Shift Unit Shift Shaft As Follows:

-- Push the shift shaft down in the -direction of arrow 1-.

-- While press the shift shaft down, rotate the locking pin -A- in the -direction of arrow 2- upward and simultaneously press it in until it engages in the gearshift shaft.

Draining 

Use a clean container that holds 3 liters with a scale printed on it to catch the transmission fluid.

-- Remove the drain plug -arrow 1- and the pivot pin -arrow 2- and drain the transmission fluid.

-- Install the pivot pin -arrow 2- with a new O-ring, see -item 5-  LIST ITEM: O-RING.

-- Install the drain plug -arrow 1-, see -item 17-  LIST ITEM: OIL DRAIN PLUG.

-- Rotate the locking pin -A- back into its starting position in the -direction of the arrow- so that the shift shaft moves freely.

Filling 

Amount of transmission fluid in the container, add to 1.7 liters

-- Remove the backup lamp switch -F4- -arrow-.

-- Hose (approximately 600 mm long, outside diameter 10 mm) with a commercially available funnel.

-- Insert the hose into the hole for the backup lamp switch (2nd technician) and fill the transmission fluid.

-- Install the backup lamp switch -arrow-, see -item 2-  LIST ITEM: BACKUP LAMP SWITCH -F4-.

-- Make sure the shift mechanism works correctly. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, ADJUSTING .

-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to one of the following:

Gas engines, refer to Description and OperationDescription and Operation .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to Description and Operation .
