Shift Mechanism Overviews: Notes

NOTE:

Note the radio code on vehicles with a coded radio.

Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when working on the shift mechanism inside the engine compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Connect the battery and follow the procedures to be performed after connecting the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .

When working on the shift mechanism in the engine compartment, remove the complete air filter housing if it is located above the selector mechanism. Gas engines, refer to Description and OperationDescription and Operation .

The shift mechanism must be removed in order to replace the operating cables. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM .

Do not bend the operating cables.
