Engine Oil

Checking the Oil Level
NOTE:
The oil level must not exceed the MAX mark - danger of damaging the catalytic converter.
Test Conditions
- The engine oil temperature is a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).
- The vehicle is on level ground.
- After turning off the engine, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan.
Test Sequence
-- Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and reinsert it all the way into the guide tube.
-- Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level.
Range of marks on the dipstick:
a - Oil must not be added.
b - Oil may be topped off.
c - Oil must be added.
NOTE:
The oil level must not exceed the MAX. mark -arrow 1- and must not fall short of the MIN. mark -arrow 2-.
