Clutch Cover: Installing

-- Always replace the cover and circlip

-- Never install a new cover with a hammer

-- Do not lubricate the center seal or touch it with your hand

CAUTION:

Do not hold the new cover by the center hole. The cover center hole must not be touched, oiled or come into contact with other substances. Leaks would result from this.

-- Only hold the cover as shown in this illustration

NOTE:

The new cap in the area of the center seal must be free of oil and dry!

-- If necessary, clean the end of the clutch shaft.

-- Remove any labels on the inside of the cover.

Only coat the outer edge of the seal using DSG oil G 052 182.

-- Place the T10302 on a level surface

Forming the Seal for a New Cover

-- Guide the cover horizontally and evenly over the entire length of the T10302. This brings the sealing lip into the installation position.

-- Remove the T10302 upward out of the cover and place it on the end of the clutch shaft.

-- Guide the cover horizontally over the T10302 and press it evenly onto its seat.

CAUTION:

Do not strike the cover because this can lead to leaks.

-- Carefully pry the cover in its seat with a screwdriver to install the new circlip.

-- Install the new circlip
