Exhaust Manifold

Removing

NOTE:

All cable ties which are opened or cut off when removing, must be replaced in the same position when installing.

-- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .

-- Remove the heat shield over the exhaust manifold, remove bolts -arrows-.

-- If present, remove the bracket bolt -arrow- from the front exhaust pipe.

NOTE:

Do not bend the flex joints in front of the exhaust pipe more than 20 degrees or they may be damaged.

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold nuts -arrows- and slide the pipe back slightly.

NOTE:

Oxygen sensors remain installed.

-- Remove 7 nuts each from both exhaust manifolds -arrows- and remove the washers.

-- Remove the exhaust manifold toward the back.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

NOTE:

Replace gaskets and self locking nuts.

-- Install the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .

Exhaust manifold heat shield to cylinder head
