Exhaust Flap, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Hand vacuum pump VAS 6213
Test Sequence
- Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks
- Vacuum lines not blocked or porous
-- Disconnect the hose on the exhaust flap vacuum actuator
-- Connect the VAS 6213 to the vacuum actuator -A-.
-- Set the slide ring -1- on the VAS 6213 to position -A- for "vacuum".
-- Generate pressure using the VAS 6213 and watch the linkage.
- The linkage must move to the left and the exhaust flap -arrow- must close.
-- Vent the VAS 6213.
- The linkage must move to the left and the exhaust flap -arrow- must close.
If linkage does not move:
-- Check the linkage for ease of movement and check the vacuum actuator for leaks.
