Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing

Requirement
- DTC memory has been checked. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking .
After DTC memory has been checked;
Indicated on display
| Rapid data transfer HELP Select function XX |
- Press buttons -0- and -5- to select "Erase DTC memory" function 05.
Indicated on display

- Confirm entry with -Q- button.
Display reads
| Attention! DTC memory was not checked. |
NOTE:
- If the ignition was switched off between checking the DTC memory and erasing the DTC memory, the DTC memory will not be erased.
- Always adhere strictly to the sequence of operations, i.e. first check DTC memory.
Indicated on display
| Rapid data transfer → DTC memory is erased! |
(The DTC memory will be erased approx. 5 secs. after the display appears.)
NOTE:
Wait about 1 minute before again checking the DTC memory.

The TCM -J217- was not given sufficient time to recognize malfunctions.
- Wait about 1 minute before again checking DTC memory.
- After checking and erasing DTC memory, test drive vehicle and check DTC memory again.
The following display should appear:
"No DTC recognized!"
