1 - Radiator

• Removing and installing. Refer to Radiator, removing and installing 
• After replacing, replace entire quantity of coolant

2 - O-ring

• Replace

3 - Upper coolant hose

• Secured to radiator with retaining clip
• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to Coolant hose connection diagram  .

4 - Air ducting

5 - 5 Nm

6 - Auxiliary coolant fan

• Only on models with optional equipment

7 - Fan ring

8 - Securing clip

• Check for secure seating

9 - Connector

10 - Coolant fan

11 - To coolant pipe

• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to Coolant hose connection diagram  .

12 - Expansion tank

• Perform leak test of cooling system with cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter V.A.G 1274/8
• Test pressure: 1.4 to 1.6 bar
• Note markings. Refer to Coolant, draining and filling  .

13 - Sealing cap

• Check with cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 and adapter V.A.G 1274/9
• Pressure relief valve must open at a pressure of 1.4 to 1.6 bar

14 - Bracket

• For coolant fan connector

15 - Lower coolant hose

• Secured to radiator with retaining clip
• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to Coolant hose connection diagram  .

16 - O-ring

• Replace

17 - Coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch -F18- , 35 Nm

• For coolant fan
• Switching temperatures:
• 1st speed on: 92 to 97 ° C, off: 84 to 91 ° C
• 2nd speed on: 99 to 105 ° C, off: 91 to 98 ° C

18 - Bracket

• For radiator
• Note installed position
• Note various versions

19 - 5 Nm
