Cooling System Components Overview, Body Side

- Upper Coolant Hose
- to the flange on the cylinder head.

- Replace if damaged.
- Radiator
- Removing and installing, refer to RADIATOR .
- After replacing, replace the entire amount of coolant.
- Gasket

- Check using the cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 B and the adapter V.A.G 1274/9. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .
- The pressure relief valve must open at 1.4 to 1.6 bar.

- Perform a leak test on the cooling system using the cooling system tester V.A.G 1274 B and the adapter V.A.G 1274/8. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM, CHECKING FOR LEAKS .

- Removing and installing, refer to FAN SHROUD AND FANS .

- Removing and installing, refer to FAN SHROUD AND FANS .
- With the coolant fan control module -J293-.
- Lower Coolant Hose
- From the connection for the coolant thermostat.
- Retaining Clip
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Radiator -G83-
- O-ring
- Always replace.
