Removal And Installation: Radiator

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Torque Wrench V.A.G 1783

Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the cover for the intake air duct; disengage the side clips to do so -arrows-.

-- Unclip the air duct from the lock carrier air duct, disengage the clips to do so -arrows-.

-- Remove the air duct and the intake air duct.

-- Remove the air duct bolts -arrows- from the lock carrier and remove the air duct.

-- Remove the fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD .

-- Remove the upper coolant hose -arrow- from the radiator.

-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and remove the radiator.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to RADIATOR, FAN SHROUD AND COOLANT FANS OVERVIEW .

-- Check the coolant level. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING .
