Multi-Plate Clutch, Preparing For Installation

Multi-plate clutch as a replacement part

Multi-Plate Clutch
- Cover on a new clutch is secured with a circlip.
Circlips
- Quantity: 10
- The circlips are of varying thicknesses. They are staggered in 0.1 mm increments.
- Refer to the notes regarding this in CLUTCH, INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING .
Cover
- Ensure the inner sealing lip is not damaged, refer to CLUTCH COVER, INSTALLING . A bushing is inserted by the manufacturer to protect the sealing lips. Leave this bushing in the cover.
Circlip
- For the cover

-- Press on the clutch cover while removing the clutch.

This prevents the clutch cover and the clutch disc carrier from sliding out of the clutch disc.

-- Make sure the four seals fit correctly.

The ends of the seals should not overlap one another.

-- Turn the seals one time. They must move freely and must not stick.

-- Look for a mark on the clutch -arrow-.

-- Make a colored mark if there is no mark present. The cover tab should realign with this marked position later.

Set the clutch down in such a way that it cannot fall over.

The clutch is now ready to be installed. Refer to CLUTCH, INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING .
