Battery with charge indicator (magic eye), checking

CAUTION: Prior to handling or servicing batteries, read, understand and observe the Warning and Safety Measures for lead-acid batteries → Warnings and Safety Measures  !

The charge indicator (magic eye) provides information on the battery electrolyte and charge levels of the battery.

There are two versions of batteries with charge indicator (magic eye):

NOTE:
  • As the charge indicator is located in a single cell, the indication is only valid for that cell. An exact assessment of battery condition should always be confirmed by performing battery test.

Air bubbles that occur normally during battery charging (even during vehicle operation) may adversely affect charge indicator reading.

NOTE:
  • Air bubbles will form during battery charging, whether charging with battery charger or during driving.
  • Charge indicators (magic eye) are located at various positions on the battery.
