Steering lock housing, removing and installing: Installing
Installing ignition switch / lock cylinder → 94 LIGHTS, SWITCHES - EXTERIOR
- Reconnect connector for ignition starter switch.
- Only for automatic transmission, connect ignition key removal lock cable.
- Install new shear bolts.
- Tighten shear bolts until head shears off.
Following work sequence affects only vehicle with ESP
- Installing Steering Angle Sensor G85 → 45 ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
The following steps apply to all vehicles.
- Installing trim for steering column switch → 70 - INTERIOR TRIM
- Install steering wheel → 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS
- Install airbag unit → 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS
CAUTION:
When connecting battery make sure that no one is in the vehicle!
