Flange shaft oil seals, replacing: Removing

Before replacing left side oil seal:

Remove axle shaft.

Refer to 40 FRONT SUSPENSION

Before replacing right side oil seal:

Turn steering to right onto full lock stop.
Remove axle shaft protective cap from engine, if installed.
Disconnect axle shaft from flange shaft.
Tie-up axle shaft as high as possible. Do not damage paint on axleshaft.

Place drip tray underneath.

Remove flange shaft cone head bolt.
Remove flange shaft with spring.

Pull out seal.

NOTE:

Do not damage sleeve, otherwise leaks will occur.
Replace sleeve if damaged. Refer to Pry out sleeve with screwdriver .
