Work procedure
Adjust cable pulley:
- Install cable pulley in indicated position.
- Fasten throttle position sensor with the pre-installed cable pulley to mounting bracket.
- Connect 6-pin harness connector to sensor.
Fine tuning the sensor in installed condition:
- Depress accelerator pedal by hand until the accelerator pedal is fully depressed against the stop.
NOTE:
- On vehicles with automatic transmission, the pressure point of the kick-down switch must be noticeable before the throttle reaches the wide open stop.
If accelerator pedal stop is not reached and pressure point of the kick down switch is not noticed: Turn sensor in the slots of the mounting bracket.
- After adjusting sensor, use scan tool V.A.G 1551 or mobile scan tool V.A.G 1552 and cable V.A.G 1551/3. Refer to Throttle position (TP) sensor, checking to check the throttle position sensor.
