Radiator, removing and installing: Notes

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Drip tray V.A.G 1306
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331
- Hose clip pliers V.A.G 1921
- Anti-freeze protection tester
Removing
- Drain coolant. Refer to Cooling system, draining and filling .
- Remove front bumper: Refer to 50 BODY, FRONT
- Remove coolant hoses from radiator.
- Remove connectors from thermal switch and radiator fan.
- Bring lock carrier into service position: Refer to 50 BODY, FRONT
- Remove bolts from radiator and remove radiator with fans downward.

Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Fill with coolant. Refer to Cooling system, draining and filling .
