Work procedure

Remove right sound damper cover. Refer to 50 BODY, FRONT
Remove charge air tube between charge air cooler and turbocharger. Refer to Charge air cooler components, assembly overview .
Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt.

Using a flat box-end wrench 16 mm at tensioning lever, pivot idler roller in direction of - arrow -.
Remove or install ribbed belt.

NOTE:

On vehicles without A/C system, first remove ribbed belt from generator and install ribbed belt to generator last.
On vehicles with A/C system, first remove ribbed belt from idler roller and install ribbed belt to idler roller last.
When installing the ribbed belt ensure that the belt is seated correctly in the belt pulleys.
