Locking cable, removing and installing: Installing

When installing ensure that the routing of the locking cable is correct. See Locking cable, removing and installing .
Locking cable must not be kinked.
Adjust locking cable after installing. Refer to Locking cable, adjusting .

Shift selector lever into "P" position.
Press locking cable into support bracket on selector lever housing until lugs on retaining clip (arrows) spring outward.
Attach locking cable in locking lever.
Turn ignition key to "ignition on" position.

Push locking cable into steering lock. See Figure .
Push clip into locking cable.
Ensure that clip is properly located.
Adjust locking cable. Refer to Locking cable, adjusting .
