Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor, checking: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, 2001 Volkswagen Golf, 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, 2000 Volkswagen Golf, and 1999 Volkswagen Jetta. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The altitude sensor is located in the Diesel direct injection system control module. The manifold absolute pressure sensor is a separate component and is located in the pipe between the charge air cooler and intake manifold.
NOTE:
- Only gold-plated contacts may be used to repair the terminals in the manifold absolute pressure sensor with intake manifold temperature sensor.
