Automatic test sequence

During test and assembly work DTCs can be recognized from other control modules like e.g. plug disconnected. Therefore, on completion DTC memory for all control modules must be check and erased, as follows:
- Press button - 0 - twice for address word "Automatic test sequence" and confirm entry with - Q - button. V.A.G 1551 transmits all known address words one after another.
When a control module answers with its identification the number of stored DTCs appears on display or "No DTC recognized" appears.
Any DTCs stored will be displayed one after another and printed out. V.A.G 1551 will transmit next address word.
Automatic test sequence has ended when the following is displayed:

or
| V.A.G ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC HELP 2 - Blink code output* |
*Appears alternately
- Erase all DTC memory, then road test.
Observe all safety measures during test drive → Safety precautions .
- Check DTC memory for all control modules using "automatic test sequence".
If no DTC is stored:
- Press → button.
Indicated on display:

- Press buttons - 0 - and - 6 - for "End output" and confirm with - Q - button.
- Turn off ignition.
