1 - Camshaft sprocket

• Removing and installing, refer to Camshafts, removing and installing 

2 - Pickup wheel

• Bearing surface on cam wheel and pickup wheel must be dry when installed
• For Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor G40
• Removing and installing, refer to Camshafts, removing and installing 

3 - 100 Nm

• Coat contact surface of bolt head with oil when installing
• Hold camshaft with open-end wrench SW 24 when removing and installing, refer to Camshafts, removing and installing 

4 - Bearing bolt, 18 Nm

5 - Oil seal

• Replace if damaged or leaky

6 - Chain tensioner, 40 Nm

• Rotate engine only with chain tensioner installed

7 - Tension bar

8 - Sprocket

• Installing, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

9 - Camshaft roller chain

• Mark direction of travel (installation position) before removing. Refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 
• Installing, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

10 - 100 Nm

• Use counter hold 3406 for tightening and loosening, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

11 - Sprocket

• Install, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

12 - 10 Nm

13 - Chain tensioner with tension bar

• Before installation, release tension on stop teeth in chain tensioner with a small screwdriver and press tension bar against chain tensioner
• Rotate engine only with chain tensioner installed

14 - Drive gear sprocket

• Seated in crankshaft
• Ground tooth for bearing parting line = TDC cyl. 1, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

15 - Roller chain

• Mark direction of travel (installation position) before removing Locking vibration damper in position  under Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 
• Install, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

16 - Sliding rail

• Remove together with roller chain, refer to Valve timing, setting (Installing timing chains) 

17 - Bolt without collar, 10 Nm

18 - Bolt with collar, 10 Nm

19 - 20 Nm

• Use with thread locking compound D 000 600 

20 - 20 Nm

21 - Sliding rail

22 - 10 Nm

• Use with thread locking compound D 000 600 

23 - Thrust washer

24 - Intermediate shaft
